【摘要】:Representativesamplesofpetroleumandpetroleumproductsarerequiredforthedeterminationofchemicalandphysicalproperties,whichareusedtoestablishstandardvolumes,prices,andcompliancewithcommercialandregulatoryspecifications.Thefollowingconceptsmustbeconsideredwhenselectingaspecificsamplingprocedure.5.2.1ObjectiveofManualSampling:5.2.1.1Theobjectiveofmanualsamplingistoobtainasmallportion(spotsample)ofmaterialfromaselectedareawithinacontainerthatisrepresentativeofthematerialintheareaor,inthecaseofrunningorall-levelsamples,asamplewhosecompositionisrepresentativeofthetotalmaterialinthecontainer.Aseriesofspotsamplesmaybecombinedtocreatearepresentativesample.5.2.2RequiredConditionsfortheApplicationofManualSampling:5.2.2.1Manualsamplingmaybeappliedunderallconditionswithinthescopeofthispractice,providedthatthepropersamplingproceduresarefollowed.5.2.2.2Inmanyliquidmanualsamplingapplications,thematerialtobesampledcontainsaheavycomponent(suchasfreewater)whichtendstoseparatefromthemaincomponent.Inthesecases,manualsamplingisappropriateunderthefollowingconditions.(1)Sufficienttimemusthaveelapsedfortheheavycomponenttoadequatelyseparateandsettle.(2)Itmustbepossibletomeasurethelevelofthesettledcomponentinordertostaywellabovethatlevelwhendrawingrepresentativesamples,unlessallorpartoftheheavycomponentwillbeincludedintheportionofthetankcontentstobeidentified.(3)Whenoneormoreoftheseconditionscannotbemet,samplingisrecommendedandisaccomplishedbymeansofanautomaticsamplingsystem(seePracticeD4177(APIMPMSChapter8.2)).1.1Thispracticecoversproceduresformanuallyobtainingrepresentativesamplesofpetroleumproductsofaliquid,semi-liquid,orsolidstatewhosevaporpressureatambientconditionsisbelow101kPa(14.7psia).Ifsamplingisfortheprecisedeterminationofvolatility,usePracticeD5842(APIMPMSChapter8.4)inconjunctionwiththispractice.Forsamplemixingandhandlingofsamples,refertoPracticeD5854(APIMPMSChapter8.3).Thepracticedoesnotcoversamplingofelectricalinsulatingoilsandhydraulicfluids.AsummaryofthemanualsamplingproceduresandtheirapplicationsispresentedinTable1.Note1-Theproceduresdescribedinthispracticemayalsobeapplicableinsamplingmostnoncorrosiveliquidindustrialchemicals,providedthatallsafetyprecautionsspecifictothesechemicalsarestrictlyfollowed.Note2-TheprocedureforsamplingliquefiedpetroleumgasesisdescribedinPracticeD1265;theprocedureforsamplingfluidpowerhydraulicfluidsiscoveredinANSIB93.19andB93.44;theprocedureforsamplinginsulatingoilsisdescribedinPracticeD923;andtheprocedureforsamplingnaturalgasisdescribedinTestMethodD1145.Note3TheprocedureforspecialfuelsamplesfortracemetalanalysisisdescribedinanappendixtoSpecificationD2880.
